MU Origin has enjoyed several major content updates in the 15 or so months since it first arrived, but this is the biggest one yet. That’s right – prepare yourselves for MU Origin 2.0.
The centrepiece of this giant leap forward for the MU Origin franchise is Ragnarok. In Norse mythology, Ragnarok is a legendary future war in which several badass gods like Thor, Odin, and Loki get killed. That should give you an idea what you’re in for.
Ragnarok is an in-game tournament that only the top 100 players from the previous month’s server arena are eligible to join.
MU-ch fun to be had
It’s open for seven days every month from 15:30 to 16:30, and sees 100 players whittled down to 64, then 32, and so on until somebody earns the coveted title of ‘MU Origin No. 1’. Warriors of 4 Rebirth or over can also ‘like’, ‘dislike’, or ‘bet’ on other players from round 16 onwards.
But that’s not all. Developer Webzen has also enhanced the pet system with pet skills. Once you’ve reached 6 Rebirth and completed the Faith War quest you’ll be able to equip a skill to your pet. The first slot opens up when your pet hits level 30, and another slot is added at 40, 50, and 60.
Plus, there’s a new Guild Temple system, which lets you level-up and retain your own personal guild level by doing things within a guild. Cleverly, you can take your guild level with you when you withdraw from a guild, and you’ll keep it as long as the next guild you join isn’t a lower level.
There’s a new all-server area called Elveland, for players at 11 Rebirth or over, and a Cry Wolf statue has been added to the game.
MU Origin was already massive, and it’s growing all the time. This 2.0 update is the perfect moment to jump in and see what all the fuss is about.
